Faith Tipton graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2025. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Communities and Organizations, and expects to graduate in May of 2027. Professionally, she works as a Family Navigator with the Tammy Lynn Center (TLC) in Raleigh, NC, supporting families and individuals with I/DD in navigating resources and finding support.
In pursuing economic and social justice, Faith centers lived experience and abolitionism in her work, seeking out the end of all carceral systems. She is drawn to qualitative research that investigates pilot programs, policy, and radical new methods of achieving equity and eliminating harm. In 2025, Faith presented her Bachelor’s Honors Thesis “A Literature Review of Social Worker and Law Enforcement Co-Response Crisis Teams,” at the Southeastern Social Work Conference at UNC-Pembroke. She has also worked in community organizing in the Triangle area, centering immigrant and worker’s rights and international solidarity among oppressed peoples. Faith hopes to leverage her experiences to pursue a career in research, community organizing, advocacy, and policy work, where she seeks to support oppressed communities in redefining and achieving justice, freedom, and equity. In her personal life, Faith enjoys reading, journaling, and spending time with her cats Salem and Mishka.
