Simone Smith is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Work, Policy, Planning, and Administration at The Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who received her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
She is passionate about social action, advocacy, and justice in African American communities and has dedicated a great deal of her time in the social service field providing aid to marginalized populations.
Recently, Simone started Sexual Trauma and Assault Resources Inc. (S.T.A.R. Inc.), a nonprofit organization seeking to end sexual violence in marginalized populations and empower survivors of sexual trauma and abuse.
